Dr. Katie Kobyra received her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University in Indiana and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. After studying acupuncture and traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at The Chi Institute during her senior clinical year, she now specializes in providing acupuncture as an alternative choice for pain management in her geriatric and senior patients.
Dr. Kobyra enjoys strengthening the bond between clients and their recently adopted pets during their "New Pet" wellness visits, as well as providing life-long care as their pet grows with the family. In addition to working with dogs and cats, Dr. Kobyra also ventures out into the community providing farm calls to goats, sheep, cows, horses, and pigs.
Dr. Kobyra lives in Charleston with her husband Eric, a rescued Boxer named Amelia and a three-legged cat named Skywalker. When she's not at the hospital, she enjoys hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, reading, and watching Purdue Football and Blue Jackets Hockey.
